La Gente

(The People) is a bilingual HIV/AIDS services program specializing in providing client-centered services that assist HIV/AIDS infected individuals understand their diagnosis, gain access to medical care, emotional support, and other resources and assistance that meet their needs.

La Gente utilizes unique approaches to care and support services in order to reach individuals living with HIV/AIDS, as well as the family and community that support them. It serves a wide cross-section of individuals living with HIV/AIDS, including straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning  (GLBTQ) men, women and youth.

The program offers:

  • Intensive medical case management
  • Mental health counseling
  • Linkage to care and reengagement in care (early intervention services)
  • Medical transportation assistance
  • Food bank assistance
  • HIV/STI testing and screening services
  • Client advocacy
  • A cohesive referral system to qualified providers
  • Community outreach, and much more.
