Weekly Community Spaces

Community open spaces for youth are available every Wednesday afternoon from 4:30 to 6:00, providing a space to connect, share experiences, and work through challenges in a supportive and welcoming environment. This space encourages self-expression and meaningful dialogue. It’s a great place for young people to hang out, as well as an opportunity to explore local resources for employment, mental health services, and more.

Youth Leadership Program

A 12-week leadership program for high school students in grades 9-12. Designed to support educational and leadership growth, this program provides opportunities to explore identity, culture, and the power of community.

Workshops led by community leaders cover topics like social justice, human rights, environmental justice, and the collective liberation and advancement of the community. Through hands-on projects, college tours, and exclusive scholarship opportunities, participants gain skills to create change.

This program welcomes students of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences, creating an environment of continuous inclusion, respect, and open dialogue among peers.

Youth Leadership Conference

Founded in 1991, the La Raza Youth Leadership Conference has become an inclusive event that empowers youth across Colorado to build leadership skills, connect with peers, and explore educational opportunities.

This aims to foster understanding, respect, and civic engagement. This event offers a chance to connect with leaders, discover new passions and projects, and collaborate for personal and community growth.

The conference includes hands-on workshops, an educational fair, and the opportunity to get involved in local community and mutual aid initiatives — empowering youth to realize their potential as change-makers and envision the future they want to build.

Culturally Engaged Programming

Culturally engaged programming offers youth the opportunity to explore and celebrate their culture, traditions, and heritage while connecting with peers who share similar values.

Joven Noble, with its curriculum designed by the National Compadres Network, empower young men to embrace their identity, build leadership skills, and foster a sense of pride.
Girasol, a program focused on the leadership and personal growth of young women, emphasizes cultural pride and community involvement.
Youth on a Mission helps teens develop leadership skills through public speaking practice, preparing them to become confident advocates for their communities. These programs provide a foundation for youth to understand the impact of their words and actions on creating a more just society.

#Escape the Vape

Vaping poses serious risks to young people. In recent years, the U.S. has seen a rise in the use of these highly addictive products among youth.

Studies have linked vaping to issues with focus, memory, and mood, making it harder to learn and stay motivated. The chemicals in e-cigarettes can also cause long-term damage to the lungs, leading to serious health problems.

#EscapeTheVape is a youth-led initiative dedicated to promoting healthier lifestyles and raising awareness about the dangers of vaping. By coming together, young people are taking a stand to support one another in making positive choices, and work toward a future free from nicotine addiction.

Taking action by listening to the issues impacting youth today

With greater connectivity than ever before, young people are more aware of how mental health impacts their well-being, especially in relation to their schools, families, and friendships .
At Servicios, we work closely with youth to create programs and opportunities that foster positive change in mental health. Youth groups are encouraged to participate in holistic health initiatives and are empowered to design initiatives that support their peers and community, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.

Healthy Relationships

Youth today are increasingly aware of green and red flags in relationships.
At Servicios, we incorporate positive examples of healthy interpersonal relationships throughout our programs. As an organization that provides victim support services, we encourage youth to speak up about any abuse, recognize safe and unsafe situations, and know how to ask for help. We provide resources to youth, their families, and peers to promote healthy, safe environments and empower them to take action when needed.

Advocacy in The Community

Youth in schools have historically played a pivotal role in making impactful changes in their communities and the world, often being the ones to stand up, voice their opinions, and create collective solutions. Advocacy, both in and outside of schools, is essential for building a fair and just world.
At Servicios, we encourage students to become educated, learn about their history, and support their right to advocate for themselves and their peers. We provide youth programming across Colorado, bringing students together from all corners of the state to unite for a common goal: justice, equity, and positive change.
