La Gente
The La Gente Program serves a wide cross-section of the Latino population living with HIV/AIDS, including straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered (GLBT) men, women and youth. La Gente is a bilingual medical case management program that provides client-centered services that assists HIV/AIDS infected individuals and their affected family members to gain access to health care and other resources that meet their needs. La Gente utilizes unique services and support groups in order to reach individuals living with HIV/AIDS, as well as the family and community that support them. The program offers intensive mental health counseling, medical case management services, emotional and social support programs, HIV/STD testing and screening services, client advocacy, a cohesive referral system to qualified providers, community outreach (Colorado AIDS Walk, Denver PrideFest, etc..), and much more. La Gente program also conducts HIV/STD prevention classes to youth throughout the Denver Metropolitan Area.
Servicios’ HIV/STD testing and screening is done the first and last Monday of every month. The La Gente Program is wheelchair accessible on the first floor of the main building at 4055 Tejon St. Those seeking testing must present an ID which establishes the individual is 16 years of age or older.
