Health insurance is critical in helping people receive the preventive and medical care they need to achieve and maintain good health. Over the past 10 years, Colorado has made strides in reducing the number of people lacking coverage.  The state expanded Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act. Colorado’s uninsured rate remains steady at 6.5% or 362,000 Coloradans.

Some barriers that Coloradans face include not being able to afford health insurance, experiencing life events that impact their coverage, or simply not knowing how to enroll.

Servicios de La Raza’s HELP (Health Enrollment Literacy & Promotion) Program provides culturally and linguistically relevant services designed to promote and expand insurance enrollment and utilization of healthcare services. Staff provide individual and community-based education to enhance well-being, prevent illness, and promote proper healthcare. Services are provided in English and Spanish to communities throughout the Greater Denver Metro and other cities/counties across Colorado. However, HELP has no boundaries and will work to assist anyone in need. Everyone is welcome.
